Sciencesoft is committed to a continuous R&D programme and invests a large percentage of its annual income in R&D activities.
The Sciencesoft R&D team have a combined total of more than 200 years experience in developing world-leading reservoir simulation visualisation and analysis software.
In recognition of its commitment to R&D, Sciencesoft was awarded a SMART Award in 2010 to support a research project into advanced 3D visualisation techniques. The SMART Award is funded by Scottish Enterprise.
Sciencesoft has also worked, and still actively works, with universities in a range of research activities.
Many of the results derived from Sciencesoft’s in-house research programme and the results from projects undertaken in collaboration with universities have been commercialised by the Company and are now contained within the Company’s products.

Richard Warnock is the software development manager at Sciencesoft. Richard has a BSc in Information Systems. Prior to joining Sciencesoft Richard had a very successful career in the software development industry mainly with HP and Agilent Technologies. Throughout his time at HP/Agilent he managed large software development and support teams across Europe, the Far East and the US.
While working in conjunction with the University of Texas at Austin, Sciencesoft developed a set of file readers for S3GRAF for the University’s UTCHEM chemical reservoir simulator. These file readers enable the loading of UTCHEM output quickly and easily intoS3GRAF for rapid visualisation and analysis.
